Croptoberfest: Follow-Up

Croptoberfest was a lot of fun!  Everyone had a good time, got a lot of work done on their projects and we only had one injury from "Pass the Pumpkin" - however no stitches were necessary!

New Digital Layout from the Project Center

Today I was preparing some things for my Croptoberfest event (coming up on the 23rd), I came across this new layout idea on the project center.  I created the entire page in about 7 minutes.  I LOVE the orange background - and the pics are not bad either!  (Original Design by Wendy Bretz)

What is Croptoberfest?

Croptoberfest is an all-day event dedicated to your photos! It's a day with friends doing whatever you need to do with your photos - sort, organize, slide 'em into an album, add them to pre-decorated pages, traditional or digital scrapbooking, even start a New QUICK project & finish it that day!  The choice is yours!

Harvest Layout

Harvest Time Reminisce Autumn Layout

Ingredients:
Reminisce Autumn Addition US
Brick Cardstock US
All-Purpose Scissors US
Fine-tip Cocoa Pen US

How to Create:
Use Reminisce Autumn brick color pattern paper for the base.

Cut the orange leaf pattern paper 11-1/2” x 10”. Position and adhere slightly diagonally across the base. Using an All-Purpose Scissors, cut off the excess corners.

Mat a 6” x 6” photo onto Brick Cardstock. Trim, leaving a thin border. Adhere to layout, approx. 1” from left edge of orange paper.

Mat (2) 3” x 3” photos onto Brick Cardstock. Trim leaving a thin border. Adhere next to large photo.

Apply wheel-barrow sticker to Brick Cardstock. Using an All-Purpose Scissors, cut around sticker and adhere below small photos. Apply the “Harvest Time” sticker across previous sticker.

Using a Fine-tip Cocoa Pen, journal below large photo and draw lines around the orange paper’s edge.

How to Create:
Use the All-Purpose Scissors to cut a frame into the green with the bird 6-1/2" x 4-1/2" mat. Adhere a red mat behind it.

Too Busy?

If you think you're too busy to scrapbook, think again!  While scrapbooking is a fun hobby, it not only documents your life, its a treasure to pass on to future generations.  Wouldn't you love to know more about your grandparents' day-to-day lives back when they were growing up? Or when they got married & started your family?  Wouldn't you love to know what they did for fun or vacation?  How they lived, who they loved, what times were like when they were young?  Well your kids and their kids want that from you, and you can give that to them!  Imagine if your grandparents actually took the time to document their lives in a book, the good & the bad, and imagine you owned that book - wouldn't that be one of your most treasured possessions?

In order to be rounded & fulfilled humans, we must take the time to slow down and do something that brings joy & happiness to our lives...scrapbooking lets that happen over and over again.  While you're creating that album you are reminiscing and re-living those moments you captured.  Then when you pull out that album to share with your family & friends, you are re-living it again and bringing joy to those you are sharing it with! 

I read recently somewhere that memories are valuable possessions and capturing your life experience on paper allows precious moments to be taken out to re-live again and again. An album is a glimpse into a moment, a life and a family.

Graduation Layout Using Wishful Paper

Cute idea for a graduation layout.

Ingredients:

Wishful Paper Pack

Tearing Tool

Foam Squares

Fine Tip Bright Pen Set

How to create:

Use Wishful light blue pattern paper for the base.

Using the Tearing Tool, tear the star foil border from the dark blue pattern paper.
Adhere to the right side of the layout.

Using the Tearing Tool, tear the left side of a 6-1/2" x 8-1/4" piece of the dark blue pattern paper.  Adhere (2) 6" x 4"photos, and adhere to the center of the layout.

Adhere (3) 3" x 3" photos along the bottom border.

Apply the "Go Confidently" title sticker to light blue paper.  Trim to 3-3/4" x 1".  Adhere to dark blue pattern paper.  Trim, leaving a thin border.  Adhere to layout as shown, using Foam Squares. 

Using a Fine-tip Blue Pen, journal and apply the star border sticker.

Fun Facts....

Just a fun fact about Creative Memories' pens....

If a person were to write a single long line with a Creative Memories pen, how long would it last?

Creative Memories colored fine tip pens will write for 1/2 mile under controlled conditions. Precious Elements Fine-Tip pens and colored Round-Tip pens will write for 300 yards (3 football fields).  Precious Elements Round-Tip pens will write for 125 yards.
